First iPhone 14 Pro Max teardown suggests Apple isn’t using SIM-tray space for anything

The first iPhone 14 units shipping has started, but surprisingly one YouTuber has posted a  video that shows teardown (and reassembly) of  the  high-priced member of the lineup.

First iPhone 14 Pro Max teardown suggests Apple isn’t using SIM-tray space for anything

In fact, PBKreviews posted the video on Thursday and has got over 100,000 views. In spite of teardown, this much number of views shows the importance of astonishing features inside the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The biggest disappointment to some iPhone users may be the lack of change in one specific area. The teardown points out the U.S. version of the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which means the SIM tray is missing but the space freed up by this absence contains something that appears like plastic filler rather than any additional componentry.

To those in the know, this is not a big surprise. Apple may phase out physical SIM trays completely at some stage in the near future, but as long as it is making two versions i.e, ones with eSIM only in the U.S., and others with physical SIM everywhere else–it makes far more sense logistically to keep them as similar as possible.

If some changes are checked out in the teardown, such as the repositioning of the TrueDepth camera to match the pill cutout on the Dynamic Island and the appearance of a metal plate for heat dissipation. And the specs of the new camera setup are quite interesting and well-informed.
